There were 1,215 students enrolled in Teays Valley High School during 2023-24 school year in Pickaway County

Teays Valley High School had the highest enrollment among Pickaway County schools, welcoming 1,215 students during the 2023-24 school year, according to reports from the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2023-24 school year, 51.6% were girls, and 48.4% were boys.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 90.5% of Teays Valley High School’s total enrollment.

Among the 14 schools in Pickaway County, Circleville Elementary School ranked second in enrollment numbers with 1,057 students, while Logan Elm High School welcomed 804 students and ranked third in the 2023-24 school year.

Teays Valley High School is part of Teays Valley Local, which roughly covers schools within Pickaway County, with its main office in Ashville.

In the previous school year, Teays Valley High School also had the highest number of students among Pickaway County schools.

According to Public School Review, Ohio students have not yet recovered from pandemic-related learning losses. In 2023, about 55% of students were considered proficient in math, and 60% in reading, down from 63% and 64% before the pandemic.

Ohio ranks 23rd nationally in K-12 school expenditures, with public schools spending $16,687 per pupil for a total of $28.05 billion annually. Overall, costs exceed available funding by nearly $460 million.
