State Representative Gayle Manning has announced that the Ohio Controlling Board has allocated $500,000 to the Department of Mental Health. This funding is designated for constructing a new community health center for Lorain County Health and Dentistry.

The newly built facility in North Ridgeville is situated on Center Ridge Road. It features seven medical exam rooms, six dental operatories, two behavioral health offices, and additional clinical and administrative spaces. The center aims to provide primary and preventive medical care, along with behavioral and substance addiction services and dentistry treatments.

“Community health centers are a critical care facility that help with the routine health needs of Ohioans,” said Manning. “They are providing the necessary care in areas where Ohioans lack access to health care.”

Manning was present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the recently opened facility, which is now open to patients.

The Ohio Controlling Board serves as financial legislative oversight for capital and operating expenditures by state agencies. Its next meeting is scheduled for October 21.
