State Rep. Tracy Richardson | The Ohio House of Representatives
State Representative Tracy Richardson has encouraged Ohio residents to participate in the update of the State of Ohio Rail Plan. This plan, overseen by the Ohio Rail Development Commission, must be revised every four years to maintain eligibility for federal grants.
An online survey is now available for public feedback. Residents can share their concerns about safety and blocked crossings, express opinions on the current rail network, and suggest priorities for the state's future rail developments.
"Safe and reliable rail transportation is important to the 86th House District. Residents in Union and Marion counties, in addition to major manufacturers like Honda and Scotts Miracle Gro, depend on this infrastructure," said Richardson. "You may use this survey to provide your input on the future of rail in Ohio, including blocked rail crossings and other safety concerns."

The most recent version of the Ohio Rail Plan was released in 2019 and is available at: rail.ohio.gov/staterailplan
The Ohio Rail Development Commission plays a role in helping communities, companies, and railroads preserve existing rail services and establish new ones. It also funds projects aimed at improving railroad-highway grade crossings to enhance public safety.
