2022: 36 coaches at institutions in Clark County earned on average $40,346

Clark County’s 36 coaches earned an average salary of $40,346 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the 18th highest average salary per county earned by coaches at Ohio post-secondary schools during 2022.

Clark County is home to two post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, Wittenberg University stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $52,983.

Male coaches of men's teams received $52,638 on average in Clark County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $39,886.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
