There were 1,403 students enrolled in North Union Local School District in the 2022-23 school year, 0.2% more than the previous year, according to the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.6% of them were girls, and 49.4% were boys.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, representing 96.2% of the North Union Local School District total enrollment.

North Union Local School District roughly covers three schools within Union County and has a main office in Richwood.

Among the three schools in North Union Local School District, North Union Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 669 students in the 2022-23 school year.

In 2022, Ohio saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:15, which is an improvement for the state and is lower than the national average of 1:16.

Despite the apparent improvement, this positive trend is overshadowed by a general decline in public school enrollments, which was accelerated by the pandemic. This decline, aligned with the steady number of teachers in the state over the last 10 years, has led to low student-to-teacher ratios.
