Bellefontaine Elementary Preschool students enjoyed a visit to Mary Rutan Hospital’s Teddy Bear Clinic on Monday.
Each preschooler brought a stuffed animal from home to the clinic for a checkup.
Nurse practitioners from MRH Pediatrics then taught the students about tools they use to help decrease fears and nerves when coming to visit the doctor’s office.
Students learned about their hearts and lungs and talked about ways to stay healthy.
Preschool students Tilly Jervis and Dominic Stratton liked the field trip.
Jervis said, “I got to take care of my teddy bear. We got real doctor stuff. I was sitting at a table and checked out my teddy with a stethoscope.”
Stratton added, “I was checking my teddy bear and he was a little bit sick. I gave him a bandage and shot. He is going to feel better now.”
