Shawnee MS/HS will close today, Friday, January 6th, due to the inability to maintain water pressure in the building. The issue was discovered this morning at approximately 6:30 AM. We fought the good fight, but repair crews have determined that water cannot be restored in a timely manner this morning. Crews will be on site throughout the day working to repair the system. 

• We will transport MS/HS students who are on campus back home via school bus.

• Student drivers who returned home anticipating the two hour delay schedule should not return to the building. 

• Students who are open-enrolled will need to be picked up at Shawnee Elementary School between 9:15 and 10:15 AM.

I know this morning was unexpected for both students and families. Our planned timeline to bring this new system online was unexpectedly advanced when we experienced a plumbing issue over Christmas Break. I appreciate your understanding as we navigate the challenges of bringing a new water system online.
