BOIL ADVISORY ISSUED FOR SHAWNEE MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL | Clark-Shawnee Local School District (https://s3.amazonaws.com/jnswire/jns-media/eb/8c/12047294/1.jpg)
The extreme temperatures over the weekend caused a critical component in the water system at Shawnee Middle and High School to fail, which resulted in depressurization. When this happens, there is a possibility that water inside the system becomes contaminated as described in the notice from the EPA below. As such, the district is issuing a boil advisory, so signs indicating such are posted at all sinks and all drinking fountains have been bagged.
As soon as the system is restored, the district will complete and submit a water quality test as directed by the EPA to ensure that the water is safe to consume. In the interim, potable water will be available through water coolers placed throughout the building. Students are also encouraged to bring a water bottle with them to school until the boil advisory is lifted.
