COLUMBUS, OHIO 10/28/22– My School, My Choice today released its 2022 General Election Ohio Voter Guide. The guide was compiled through a candidate survey so My School My Choice followers and supporters could better understand the positions of state legislative candidates regarding school choice issues. The survey was sent to every Ohio candidate for State Senator, State Representative.
The group compiled the answers from all the completed surveys into an easy-to-read guide containing a copy of the original survey sent to the candidates. The chart includes the answers broken down by question for each respondent; House and Senate candidates are listed by District number. Those who are not included in the results did not respond.
The results can be viewed here.
The group is also distributing the Voter Guide to Ohioans through a variety of other means, including social media platforms.
My School My Choice is an umbrella coalition made up of organizations, parents, teachers, public charter school students, grandparents, school choice advocacy groups, public e-schools, education leaders, business and community leaders, and anyone who cares about the rights of all Ohio children and their families to choose the best school to meet their individual needs.
The group made statewide news in 2007 and again in 2009 when it successfully led the opposition to Governor Strickland’s controversial attempts to limit the school choices of Ohio parents. In 2009, the effort culminated in one of the largest Statehouse rallies in recent history, when more than 4500 supporters massed on the west lawn of the Statehouse to oppose the much-criticized Strickland proposal.
