City of Springfield issued the following announcement on Feb. 25
The Springfield Police Division is preparing for this summer’s Safety City program. Safety City is a five-day educational course for children, ages five and six, who will be attending kindergarten or first grade in August.
Safety City is designed to teach children traffic safety along with bike, seat belt and fire safety. Students will also be taught ways to identify and stay away from strangers. Recent Safety City programs had over 400 children enrolled, so please be sure to register early.
