The City of Marysville is currently hiring a Parks & Grounds Maintenance Worker.  Responsibilities include prepping and maintaining Oakdale Cemetery, Marysville Municipal Pool, City parks, athletic facilities, and areas around city buildings.  Position requires the operation and basic maintenance of light to heavy construction and automotive equipment such as: pick up truck, small dump truck, backhoe, skid loader, chipper, front end loader and mowers.  See attached performance plan for full position details.

Applicant Requirements:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • High School Graduate or GED (some college is a plus)
  • A valid Ohio Driver's License (Class A or B-CDL is a plus)
  • 2-3 years of experience in construction and/or athletic field maintenance is preferred
  • Must be able to demonstrate predictable and reliable attendance
  • Backhoe operational experience is a plus.
  • Any municipal experience is a plus.
Professional Licensing Requirements:

  • Required to obtain a pool certification/license within six (6) months of employment
  • May be required to obtain a CPSI (Certified Playground Safety Inspector) license
  • May be required to obtain a pesticide license
Applications will be accepted until 4 PM on Monday, November 30.

All Applicants must attend the Civil Service test in order to be eligible for consideration.  The Civil Service Test will be held at the Marysville Division of Police (1250 W. 5th St.) on Thursday, December 3 at 6 PM.  There is a mandatory $10 test/app fee which can be paid upon test entry.
