State Representative Tracy Richardson announced on May 4 that the Ohio Department of Aging has launched the Ohio Aging Compass, a new resource designed to provide tools, data, and long-term care information for older residents in one place.
The initiative aims to support seniors and their families by making important resources more accessible. The department serves individuals aged 60 and older across Ohio, as well as caregivers and communities. Programs include home- and community-based long-term support services, along with health and wellness initiatives throughout a person’s life.
“As many already know, I am passionate about assisting our aging population,” said Richardson. “I hope many local seniors and those throughout Ohio will find this new tool informative and helpful in navigating resources very important to their quality of life.”
Richardson’s service record includes volunteering with organizations such as the Union County Drug Free Coalition and local schools according to her official website. She earned a Bronze Star Medal for military service according to her official website.
Her legislative priorities have included advancing educational opportunities, limiting government intervention, and promoting economic prosperity according to her official website. After her military career, she served as a leadership professor for ROTC programs at Capital University and Ohio Wesleyan University according to her official website, chaired the Veterans and Military Development Committee according to her official website, and represents Union County along with parts of Marion County in Ohio according to her official website.
The launch of the Ohio Aging Compass reflects ongoing efforts by state officials like Richardson to improve access for seniors seeking information about long-term care options.
